Scott Buchan-Founding Partner of AOF Fest
John 'Scott' Buchan was there at the very beginning of the concept for the festival and his support has proven invaluable over the last few years as he has used his time, resources and efforts to build one of the top festivals going. On a sad note Acting Legend David Carradine has passed. This is a particularly painful thing for everyone at the AOF Fest because Mr. Carradine was our very first Lifetime Achievement Award Winner. We contacted him five years ago and told him about our little festival; Mr. Carradine was gracious, kind, generous and humble. He literally put us on the map, allowing us to use his name, his fame and his presence. When I spoke with his wife to arrange for a limousine, she wouldn't hear of it, neither would he accept an appearance fee, or hotel room. He simply wanted to support independent film. On behalf of the entire AOF Fest Team we send our deepest condolences and best wishes to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Mr. Phil Mendez is perhaps one of the greatest animators and designers working in the industry today. As the recipient of the first AOF Lifetime Achievement Award for Animation, Mendez opened the doors to an entirely new horizon for the AOF and thousands of animators around the globe who will now work with the AOF Fest via the ambassador like efforts of this incredible artist. In addition, Mendez will act as a judge in the animation division of the 2007 AOF Fest as he did for 2006.

Mr. Frank Trejo Jr. and Steve Cooper of the IKC are the first two people to actually gave the AOF Fest a chance. They gave us the venue and the original place to grow. Even though the first year was rough both Frank and Steve stuck with us to watch a four fold growth in less than one year. The AOF will always be indebted to these two fantastic martial artists, businessmen and friends of the program.

Mr. John Saxon. His mark was so deep on our culture from one film that his work has influenced so many other actors whom we've come to think of as "original" that their names would fill these pages in 6 point type and we still wouldn't have hit them all. But this dedication is not about them, it's about John Saxon and why we've chosen him to be last year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Now there's also the sheer cool factor, when called to speak about AOF Fest he just chuged along gracefully and cool, I mean here he is "Roper" from Enter The Dragon the only guy in the whole film that was cooler than Bruce Lee.

Mr. Mark Mahon. By his own admission, Mark Mahon is truly one of the first Action On Film success stories. After entering a script in the very first AOF competition in 2005 he was shocked to find that he had been nominated for one of the script awards. Mahon flew in from Great Britain to attend the show. Mark introduced himself to festival director Del Weston and told him his story of how he was actually a land developer but he'd always desired to make entertainment his true profession. Well, Mahon won the award that night and to say the least, the rest is history. Check out his photos with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood and his story in Hollywood Scriptwriter Magazine where we discover that with an AOF Award under his belt, Mahon was able to open not just one but two production companies and he is now working on his first major motion picture. Congratulations from the AOF Fest Mark, you deserve it!
