AOF WRITER'S AWARDS WEDNESDAY JULY 30, 2008 AT MOJITOS DOORS OPEN AT 6:30 PM-DInner is served at 7pm and the Award Show will go from 7:30 to 9pm. (Attire is Casual to Dressy, thank you.)

AOF BLACK TIE DINNER AND AWARD SHOW JULY 31, 2008, TWIN PALMS RESTAURANT DOORS OPEN AT 6:30PM -Dinner is served at 7:30pm with Entertainment by Gaby Moreno and the Award Show will go from 8:15pm until 9:45. (Black Tie is just a suggestion, thank you.)

AOF 2008 Schedule: Friday July 25, 2008 The AOF Fest begins. Films will be shown from Friday the 25th to Thursday the 31st 2008. All filmmaker and special event check in will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott. All filmmaker interviews and taping will also be done at the Courtyard. Special Event Parties and Mixers will be held each day. Participating venues are Gordon Biersch, Mojitos, Vertical Bar, Twin Palms, The Courtyard by Marriott and Manny's Pizza.(Others to be announced) Sunday July 27, 2009-Filmmaker's Symposium featuring among others, 35 year Studio Executive Alan Bailey. Award Show and Dinner will be held at the beautiful Twin Palms Restaurant on Thursday July 31, 2008.
The 2008 AOF Fest takes place from July 25-31, 2008 at the Laemmle Theaters which are located at One Colorado Blvd in Old Pasadena CA Our AOF Films will screen in a number of these fantastic theaters. www.laemmle.com

The AOF 2008 Writer's Award Dinner-
Join us on Wednesday July 30, 2008 at 7pm for the incredible 2008 AOF Writer's Awards Dinner at the beautiful Mojito's Restaurant in Pasadena, CA. This first ever dinner and award show will feature awards in nearly 20 categories for writer's who have submitted their work to the 2008 AOF Season. Included will be a fantastic Dinner and Drinks, Award Show and of course recognition and Awards for the top writers of 2008. We will also be awarding the first ever Arthur Rosenfeld Award for Excellence in Writing. Created by popular demand, this is a first ever event and will be limited to only 60 guests so get your tickets early. Gaby Moreno is a transplant from Guatemala City, Guatemala. It was there that Gaby first learned to speak English by playing and singing along with such greats as BB King, Robert Johnson and Nina Simone. Notes Moreno "My mom bought me this really cheap nylon string guitar when I was 14, and we became inseparable." Only one year later Gaby was asked to record the National Anthem of Guatemala with her own soulful style, something no one had done before.


Building on her achievements, Gaby quickly found herself opening up in her hometown for such artists as Ricky Martin and Christian Castro. Gaby gravitated to Los Angeles, CA where she attended The Musician's Institute and honed her craft. Her unique songwriting (she writes in English and Spanish) won her many new fans. In addition, the LA music community took notice and Gaby soon found herself writing songs with some incredibly talented musicians and producers. "Meant to Fly," (co-written by Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida) a song that came from one of the writing sessions was recorded by the winner of Canadian Idol 2006 (Eva Avila). She also recently made history as the first Latin category winner to take home the "Maxell Song Of The Year" with her song "Escondidos". She was presented this award at Roseland Ballroom in New York City, where Fergie made a stop on her Verizon VIP Tour. For the first time, the winner of the coveted prize had the opportunity to open a show for an award winning multi-platinum artis
